My name is Mark, and I’m hosting the New British Isles RR here in the new forum. I want to say a big “thank you” to @constanze @figtrees & @anon9190530 who were the previous hosts.

This round robin (RR) is open to everyone in the British Isles, which means Ireland, UK, Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, etc.

To take part in the RR, please comment in the thread below, indicating which group you would like to join. Then send me a personal message with your name & address. You’ll only need to do this the first time you join in, as I will keep a record of the addresses.

Please familiarize yourselves with the rules below, which are quite simple.

The Rules for this RR

  • Most groups will have 4 members, but sometimes there will be groups that are larger. In every case, you will send a postcard to each member of the group and receive one from each member in return.

  • Some groups have a theme. Please only send postcards suitable to that theme to the other members of your group.

  • To join this RR, post in this thread which group you would like to join. Then send me a private message with your name and address. I’ll keep a record of the address for future groups you may join - but do tell me if you move house!

  • When the group is full, I’ll send you a message that includes the addresses of the others in your group. Please send your written postcards within 2 weeks of receiving the addresses.

  • Remember to post in this thread when you have sent and received postcards. Write something like, “I received a postcard of the Giant’s Causeway from Anyname today. Thank you!”

  • Also, make sure to write “British Isles RR”, and the group number and name, on your postcard. And don’t forget to add your forum name! It helps a great deal.

Our groups stay open to sign-ups for two months. As long as a group has 3 members by that time, it will start at a reduced size.

If you have any questions, especially if you haven’t taken part in a RR before, please feel free to send me a private message. You might also want to send me a message if you have a good suggestion for a new group theme.

If you’re a brand new Postcrosser (edited to add: e.g. you have sent fewer than ten cards) or a First Time Participant, you can join just one group at first. This is so you can learn how the process works. Once your cards are received, you’ll be at liberty to join other groups. :slightly_smiling_face:

Group #005 - Natural Landscapes Just received two really lovely cards from this group!

Thank you Sarah (@anon12505293) for an incredible image of Lindisfarne castle at low tide with a very beautiful and dramatic bright, cloudy sky (I’ll share pictures if I figure out how - I love it!) Definitely worth a visit in real life some day - there’s real thrill and excitement in making sure you don’t get stranded by the tide!

And thank you so much, Sabine (@Bayrisches-Madl) for the beautiful view from Ashey on the Isle of Wight, of fields, fences and hills. I love both of these sunny images! They’re both making me want to jump on a train for a little day trip somewhere…well, some day!

Received lovely cards from Sarah @anon12505293 of the gorgeous Brownsea Island at sunset and stunning Aros Castle on the Isle of Mull from @Bayrisches-Madl this afternoon, both with amazing stamps too - thank you both!

I’m drip-feeding my send outs as taking part in Month of Letters - @anon12505293’s is written up and will post today, will send out @Bayrisches-Madl and @katiemmj tomorrow and Friday - will come back to confirm they have gone! x
