When officially to complain?

I also don’t agree that nude photography showing genitals (and no sexual activity) is pornographic and should be removed from someone’s wall. In many cases it’s art - risky, doesn’t appeal to everybody, but should Postcrossing censor it?

I don’t think so, and the FAQ give a hint: It’s required to ask the recipient first to take an inappropriate picture off their wall, and then reach out to the team.

FAQ "Inappropriate postcard image"

A postcard image in someone’s wall is inappropriate. How can it be removed?

If you find a postcard image that should be removed from a gallery, the first thing to do is to contact the recipient of that postcard and ask them to remove it. Please wait a few days for a reply since not every person uses Postcrossing on a daily basis.
If you don’t get a reply, please get in touch about this issue. We will do our best to help.

Where should Postcrossing draw the line what “inappropriate” means? For some people it’s nudity, for others war, or sarcasm about politics or religion, or animals shown in situations that feel cruel to some… I think it’s very difficult to decide what inappropriate means for most members.

The terms of service add to this point of view: Postcrossing isn’t allowed for kids, but only for teenagers, or else with surveillance of a parent - also because the website may display images or content that may be offensive to some.

Terms of service

The Website Services are available only to individuals who are either (i) at least 13 years old, or (ii) who are under the age of 13 years old and who are authorized to access the Website by a parent or legal guardian. If you have authorized a minor to use the Website, you are responsible for the online conduct of such minor, and the consequences of any misuse of the Website by the minor. Parents and legal guardians are warned that the Website may display postcard images and other content that may be offensive to some.

So far, I didn’t stumble over pictures I would find necessary to report if I’m not the receiver.
