[RR] North American March 2021 Round Robin - Spring Is in the Air Edition - Closed!

Welcome to the March North American Round Robin!

As always, all in North America are welcomed to join, but the round robin is limited to the first 30 people who sign up, including myself. If you have not participated in the past, please be sure to send me your address when you sign up.

The rules:

  • Sign up between now and Feb 27 by posting in this thread. (Please note that this closes one day before the end of the month, whether full or not.)
  • Participants must be at least 13 years of age.
  • Only individuals may participate - no groups.
  • You may not sign up for a new month if you have not sent your cards or reported having received cards for any previous month. If you reported having sent your cards, but no one has reported receiving your cards in a previous month, you may not join.
  • Send one postcard to each member in the group.
  • Send all postcards by March 15.
  • Do your best to send a postcard that matches the wishes of the receiver.
  • Unless requested, do not send free postcards, flyers or folded greeting cards.
  • Reports must include a description of each card received before I will mark them off as received.

Please post in this thread once you have sent all your cards, as well as when you receive them. When reporting received cards, it’s important to include both the number and name of the sender. This helps me to double check that errors were not made.

I would like to participate, but I’ve never done one of these before. Is there anything I need to know besides I will be sending 29 postcards (1 each to the rest of the group)? Do I need to choose a number? Any will do. Please let me know If I’m eligible, and what I need to do next!

To help answer questions from people new to Round Robins: each month members are assigned numbers. The number and your Postcrossing name go on your postcard along with the RR name to help the recipient properly identify your card. For example, I write “NA RR March 2021 #1 cawindt” So when you receive a card, you report in a similar manner identifying both the number and Postcrossing name of the person who sent the card.

How are numbers assigned? Long-time participants are given the same number each month for consistency sake. (We’ve been doing this RR for I think over 10 years. I’m the third host.) New participants get assigned open numbers. Often, I will put new people in a “waiting for number” category until I see who of the long-term people may be taking a month off, then I fill in accordingly. So while you can request a number, please know that it may not be honoured.

There’s nothing else really other than what’s written in the rules in the first post. Regarding numbers, check out post #18 in this thread where I give details on that. Short answer is no, you don’t need to choose a number. The only other thing to do would be to send me a private message with your address.
