In my experience, in Great Britain, you have to “make” them yourself.
There is a booklet that shows you what cancellations are coming out and it’s up to the public to submit the cards and stamps of that issue. And then, once they are cancelled, they send them back to you.
It’s quite a lot of much to try and match things and created your own “collage”. After that, the only place to get maxicards is in the stamp shops. Very expensive, as they are very rare.

That’s interesting. I may try this. I’ve seen transparent sticky note in bookstore, wonder if it will work too.
Our philatelic bureau use ink that’s easy to smudge…
