I seem to be stuck in a US/Germany seesaw. Since the 6th of May I’ve generated 31 addresses with 15 going to Germany, 14 to the USA, and 1 each going to Russia and Belarus. Strange results.

@werewegian I’m completely the opposite! These are my travelling cards right now (including expired cards)

USA and Germany are unusually low vs what I usually get and I’ve started to see China reappear in my travelling cards.

Not quite 66 years but an anniversary card I sent to my parents on April 14th has only arrived today, one month and one day later - and I had the luxury of forking out £1.10 for the privilege! It only had to travel from London to rural East Yorkshire so it’s a miracle any of our postcards make it out of the UK in a timely manner!

The plot thickens: Royal Mail have posted the grey card back to me, despite correct postage being stuck on the side of the card with the Delivery Office address on it. No sign of whatever it was the sender didn’t pay postage for. I’ll therefore be making a trip to the Delivery Office first thing tomorrow morning (its only open between 08:00 and 10:00) to point out Royal Mail’s mistake and collect my item.

That’s just as crazy as when they posted a red card for me in my old address, I was not expecting anything but was curious what it was, and they didn’t find anything, it was very odd, why the postie wrote out a card when I had nothing at the time was very puzzling.

All sorted, with apologies from the Royal Mail colleague who served me at the Delivery Office. It was a Postcrossing postcard!

Where was it from?

The UK. It was a Forum postcard.

I’ve had a few problems with parcels recently - been waiting over a week for one sent from an hour away haha!

As some of you may have seen, I had a very quick (one hour) layover in Dublin so got set as an Irish postcrosser to avoid any complications in travel mode/so I could draw the addresses before actually being in Ireland. Well, I’ve since been set back to a UK postcrosser and had left myself in travel mode until I could set myself back to the UK. It looks like in the thirty or so seconds it took to set myself back to the UK (and out of travel mode), my address was given out resulting in this :sweden:-:ireland: postcard actually being addressed and received in the UK!

Good afternoon folks, hoping all is well. I have taken on “hosting” of the British Isles Tag after the previous host Sabine moved away from the British Isles. It would be grand to get more folks over there as regular “taggers”! Join us here: [TAG] British Isles Tag

A song I requested is playing now on the radio! The presenter read out the email - I mentioned Postcrossing and it was approaching 72 million postcards received!

What song did you request? Something postal-themed, such as “Please Mr Postman” by The Marvelettes?

My 300th official postcard was registered today.

Yes/no. I requested a song from Iron Maiden (well, they’ve been on stamps this year) - Can I Play With Madness

Spotted on the Tube: a man carrying a letter which had stuck on it two unbarcoded Machin definitive first class stamps to take it to Sweden. Use them Machins while you can, folks! :email:
