Hello, @siori
The problem is the soap. It is compulsory a pharmacy inspection from non European Union products of beauty and cosmetics and it cost that amount.
Hello, @siori
The problem is the soap. It is compulsory a pharmacy inspection from non European Union products of beauty and cosmetics and it cost that amount.
Thank you for your replies, @Alvargut and @Maritere .
My daughter doesnāt speak Spanish yet, so she couldnāt understand what happened either.
Now I know that each country has different regulations which I should follow.
Hello again @siori
I asked to a person who is more in these kind of problems and he told me: (sorry, it is with traslator, if you donāt understand something, just tell me and I try to explain better)
The import laws of the European Union and the borders require that medical products must be delivered to be dispatched with a Pharmacy certificate in order to be dispatched by the AEAT and to be delivered.
Soap is a medical product and as such it has to pass a pharmacy inspection for said certificate to be issued and for the AEAT to authorize its delivery, and that is expensive, even if it is a gift, and in addition it has to be declared by H1 and you have to present it to the inspection by the Post Officeā¦ and for all this, the Post Office charges over ā¬53, the rest will be the import VAT, which is improper and illegal if the value of the merchandise as a gift does not exceed ā¬45 ā¬ since it is exempt according to import and customs legislation.
ItĀ“s me, @maritere, again. And, I think you need to be careful to sending food or tea, because I know other problems like this with non European Union products. Pharmacy inspection again. It is about the health because some products or ingredients are not allowed in UE. But I understand it is unfair sometimes (not always is about commerce) and it this cases is just a gift between a family.
Other advice, no say the gift is expensive because, then, she need pay taxes too.
I am so sorry about this. European Union Laws to protect the UE commerce too
Thank you so much again for your detailed information, @Maritere .
I understood the situation clearly now.
The thing is that I made the soap by myself and it doesnāt contain any bad ingredients.
It was a pity that it wasnāt considered and judged as an individual case.
I absolutely agree with you @siori and I understand you.
Family or friends are not commerce situations.
It is a pity this happened to you and your daughter.
I hope this bad experience dont give a bad view of Spain to both of you.
Many greetings and if you need some information from here, just ask to us, we are happy to help you.
@Maritere, do not worry!
This incident does not underestimate Spain.
My daughter loves Spain and is happy to live there.
I also learn Spanish with Duolingo now so that I can talk to people in Spain when I visit there. Hahaā¦
All the best!

Hello All,
Would anyone know where online, I would be able to obtain low value make-up stamps of Spain from?
I have ordered a selection of stamps from Correos Wopa+ website, however, I have noticed the rates have changed and would like some make up stamps such as the ā¬0.05, ā¬0.10 & ā¬0.20 definitives of King Felipe if possible.
Hi @Maddymail
The easiest way is to go to an āestancoā (cigarettes shop) and ask for this kind of stamps. They normally all have and those are easy to find there. I donāt know if itās possible to purchase online though.
Hope it helps.
Hello, @Maddymail
If you have stamps with letters A-B-C-D you dont need to do anything, because they are ok for sending all the time. But if you have some with price (numbers) maybe you need some extras.
We have a topic with the new rates in 2024

Places to buy are not easy. Sometimes you can find them in Spanish tobacco Shops. The only one you can find all of them is Madrid Principal Post Office in Cibeles. But if you need just a few maybe I can help you. I have some of them. Just tell me.
