2 @CrimsonKing - thank you, lesly, for the meat-themed valentines postcard haha (with a cancellation from the largest mailbox in the world! :mailbox:) it is an annual tradition for my friend and i to repurpose valentines day dinner for celebrating the halfway point between our birthdays :see_no_evil:

10 @emotis - continuing with the breakfast-themed valentines postcards! :fried_egg: and all of the egg stickers on the back - thank you! eggs are around $5/dozen here too; although at costco you can get 2 dozen for $7 so i have been splitting groceries with my friends (i love eggs but 2 dozen for my small household sounds a bit much lol) when there is a will there is a way! :rooster:

13 @ladybug513 - awesome voodoo doll patterned postcard from marie laveauā€™s house of voodoo in NOLA!:business_suit_levitating::sparkles: it sounds like you had an amazing time; i have been to NOLA a few times but each time it has rained lol; i need to get better timing haha.

14 @dnrhott - sends the ruby glow passion flower from the new york botanical garden set - gorgeous! :hibiscus: the illustration is uncannily accurate; the real life version looks like something out of scifi or fantasy movie!

15 @AccentOnHakes - a stunner from the itā€™s cool box set :dark_sunglasses: thank you, karen! the blue liquid reminds me of those squeeze pop tubes from my childhood, that was just basically gelified sugar haha - delicious! i wonder if they still around :candy:ā€¦

#2 @CrimsonKing Thank you for the pretty flowery Valentine card. Great stickers and stamp too! Unfortunately I canā€™t remember the last time we did anything special on Valentineā€™s Day (sigh).

#5 @carolreader I can totally relate to this sepia colored card with a station wagon full of kids. There were four of us kids and we would pile into the station wagon with my parents and go to Lake Erie every weekend. Forget seat belts - we would put the seat down and lay in the back of the car!

#15 @AccentOnHakes Thank you for the postcard of the Giant Fir. This tree normally grows from 60-100 meters - pretty impressive! I also really like the stamps you selected. I listened to some of the selections from ā€œSongs for a New Worldā€. It must have been great to see/hear in person!

#18 @LaurenceB Thank you so much for the great woodcut postcard. Your family tree story made me smile. Loved the washi tape, stickers and great stamps!

#22 @uconn Thank you for the leva Janu Glimpse watercolor card. The dragonfly really caught my attention! I did some research and this Lithuanian artist has created some wonderful pieces.

#23 @suatelier This vintage Valentine is beautiful. What a lovely sentiment, too. Thank you! I appreciate the great stamps you chose for the card.

#27 @beatriceh Thank you for the cute Galentine. I love the snow here in the mountinatins now that Iā€™m retired and donā€™t have to drive in it every day, Here in Ruidoso the pines are incredibly beautiful when theyā€™re covered in snow.

#28 @TwoDoggies Thank you for the great Valentine with a variety of hearts and the funny poem. Loved the washi, stamps an stickers, too!

#30 @RockyRoadTrip You couldnā€™t go wrong with a postcard of a beautiful island in the Lesser Antilles. Thank you! Iā€™ll bet there are some great bars thereā€¦

7 @CStar9 Thank you so much my dear friend for the Up! inspired postcard!! Love all the colors! Can you believe I have never seen this movie?? Isnā€™t it the best to spend some ME TIME writing cards? I love it! Thank you for the recipe recommendationā€¦ We have a lot of allergies in the family as well so it is challenging to find ideas sometimesā€¦ These days everyone loves cod with miso! Hope to see you next month :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

11 @Hazygirl Thank you for the great roadside attraction!! So awesome!!! Canā€™t believe they wouldnā€™t set a little stop area so people could stop and stare a little bit

12 @Yarn-Lady Thank you very much for another great roadside attraction this month, Rosie the Fish Girl! This is my first time meeting her!! Thank you so much for sharing! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

21 @Sunshein Thank you so much for another great LP geometric for my collection :green_heart: :green_heart: Things are good for us, we are finally getting into a routine with me back at work. Itā€™s good to have something else on my mind sometimes too, though I do miss the kiddos on the days I have to commute to the city!

28 @TwoDoggies Thank you very much Terri for the pretty TS Valentineā€™s card! Ahh, the eternal desire to always be busy!! Maybe the new baby will keep you busy over the next months?

A couple more cards arrived earlier this week that got stuck in the wrong pile. Thank you to:

#9 @volvomom for the lovely vintage Valentineā€™s Day card. Nothing special here that dayā€¦and weā€™re both quite okay with that!

#29 @melvnoble for the fantastic ā€œAnita Told the Truthā€ button. I remember watching that testimony back in the day. It continues to boggle my mind that we donā€™t believe victims, especially women.

Thank you both!

Updated!

I will be opening March tomorrow. Remember that you cannot join a new month if

  1. you havenā€™t reported receiving any cards the previous month
  2. you havenā€™t sent all of your cards from the previous month yet
  3. no one has reported receiving any of your cards from the previous month yet

#27 @beatriceh reporting:

All of my cards have been sent!

#3 @cruzin Love the Archie stickers! Every time I see anything from this comic, Iā€™m just brought back to my childhood. Iā€™ve fallen behind on my reading. Too many migraines. I have a short road trip coming up. Hopefully, I can read some then.

#4 @jenhart Thanks for the lovely baking paraphernalia card. Key lime is the first and only pie Iā€™ve ever tried. I really liked it!

#6 @mikeyz1 Isnā€™t it great when you get to see the work of artists you like in person? Iā€™ll never forget seeing Caravaggioā€™s collection in Rome.

#7 @CStar9 I loved your card! One of my good friends says I should write a book about all of the misspellings Iā€™ve gotten. I donā€™t know why itā€™s so hard. Do you get any Hannibal Lecter jokes? I get them all of the time.

#21 @sunshein Thank you for the lovely handmade card! Iā€™ve never thought of the intricacies of our cutlery use. Now I want to know how Europeans do things?

#22 @uconn Cool card! Iā€™ve not heard of this artist so thanks for the introduction. All of our snow has melted now :frowning:

#23 @suatelier one of my cats talks all day long and the other only vocalises when something is wrong. Iā€™d just be surprised a group of cats could be controlled enough to be in a choir!

#24 @roxy Thanks for the fun love uncensored card. There are so many great postcard collections.

#26 @sarahaeyo Thanks for the recipe card. I had a recipe lined up for this weekend, but Iā€™ll add this one to my list. Wit one substitution, I could make it for my boss, who has recently become vegan.

#28 @TwoDoggies Thanks for the lovely heart/dove card. I canā€™t listen to the vanished and other unsolved podcasts for the same reasons. I prefer having, at least, legal resolution even though I know families are still suffering.

#29 @melvnoble Thanks for the interesting non-commissioned officers card. I just received your January NARR card as well so Iā€™ll have to report that today or tomorrow. The mail is odd!

#30 @RockyRoadTrip Love the tribune tower card. That building has changed hands a few times in the last decade. The news industry is doing so great, unfortunately.

@beatriceh Gurl, yes, I have gotten creepy Hannibal lector ā€œClarisssssseā€ intros since the movie came out when I was like 10. I have a good sense of humor but seriously, why would this ever be an appropriate way to meet someone new? Like I can see it on peopleā€™s faces when they are gearing up for it. Theyā€™re like, Iā€™m sorry, I have to. And Iā€™m like, go ahead. I feel slightly amused but also confused. Like hi, I have known you for 4 milliseconds, but DO GO ON about how youā€™d like to eat me with fava beans, here at this WORK CONFERENCE.

#3 @cruzin ā€“ An image of an antelope with a huge, red-flowering tree growing from its antlers. Looking closely at the picture, I can see that this is an oryx, an African antelope. Two things are interesting about this. First, ā€œOryx and Crakeā€ is one of my favorite Margaret Atwood books. Have you read it? Second, I recently found out that oryxes were brought to southern New Mexico and now thrive there in the wild. The thoughts that a postcard can inspire! On the other hand, I still donā€™t understand the tree. Thanks for the card and thought experiment!

#4 @jenhart ā€“ What a great portrait of Joe Biden! I have so much admiration for him. Thank you for the card!

#10 @emotis ā€“ A art collage of a sunflower created from postage stamps. Unique and very attractive. Iā€™d love to see the original. Thanks

#14 @dnrhott ā€“ Delia, Iā€™ve only driven through Maine, and that was many years ago. So, like you, I can say I havenā€™t been to Maine. This picture of windjammers off the coast of Maine is beautiful. The ocean looks so blue. I can almost imagine being there. Thank you.

#23 @suatelier - Reproduction of a vintage Valentineā€™s card. Thanks! I donā€™t pay attention to most holidays. This year, though, my significant other and I did some hiking on a gorgeous, warm day. Then he treated me to lunch. But we did this the day before Valentineā€™s, to avoid the crowds.

#26 @sarahaeyo ā€“ Your card is so - pink! Itā€™s really pretty. Thank you. Glad you got out on Valentineā€™s Day. Myself, I havenā€™t ā€œdressed to the ninesā€ in years!

#29 @melvnoble ā€“ A great card for Black History Month - MLK buttons. These bring back memories of the sixties. Thank you!

#30 @RockyRoadTrip ā€“ Great vintage postcard of George Washington commanding the troops. Itā€™s signed by the artist, ā€œR. Veenflietā€. I looked him up ā€“ he was an early 20th century commercial artist, ā€œperhaps best known for his postcards.ā€ Postcard history, here. Thanks for the rare and fantastic card!

You can see my cards received here.
