There’s one difference from previous year’s rankings. Now, if there’s a tie, the same ranking position is given, and the following ranking position(s) are skipped accordingly.
It’s interesting to see that Poland has sent quite a bit more cards in 2023 than in 2021 or 2022 (and also, that it was 2022 which was the lowest, not 2021, so it’s not quite pandemic related, or only partially).
I wonder how 2024 will look like, after our significant postage increase…
I am not surprised that there aren’t any Australian people in the top 100 senders. I’d love to see more of these breakdowns especially by country! I wonder how many postcards the top sender in Australia sent this year alone!
From 2023 stats and the previous stats, I’ve just done the additional analysis for study of Postcrossing postcard received in each countries. (This is a sample for an analysis of the first 50 countries.)
What can you see from this additional analyzed data?
We see the significant declining of postcard received in many countries (Russia , UK , Indonesia and Hungary ) as well as we see the significant increasing of them in some countries (especially India , South Korea , Greece and Kazakhstan ).
Ranking: Top 6 is still the same, but it has changes in ranking of some countries/territory. In 2023, Taiwan and UK received less postcard, but China received more postcard.
For Thailand , the growth of receiving postcard was in the positive way with the declining growth rate, 1.88% growth in 2023 and 5.39% in 2022. The postal rate for international postcards sent from Thailand, THB 35-40, is considered that it’s too expensive for Thai postcrossers when comparing with the past or the cost of living. But I cannot tell that it’s the main reason, because it may have another factors for this growth.
Yes that one is handy! I’d love to know even more though haha! Maybe the overall top senders aren’t the top 10 for sent this year within Australia (just the numbers are so high they stay in)! Stats are very interesting
