Heya everyone!
This Meetup is for those who would like to explore the beautiful Zoo Leipzig and see all sorts of animals :paw_prints:
This is my first time hosting a Meetup, so please be patient with me.
I’ll do my best to make it a fun time for everyone!

The Meetup starts at 10:00am in front of the big gate of the zoo. From the main station you can get to the zoo with the tram lines 4 or 12, it just takes 3 stops to get there.
The admission fee to the zoo is 22€.
Please check upfront if you might qualify for a discounted ticket (student, Leipzig Pass, etc).

I will collect the fee in front of the entrance to pay everyones ticket in one go. If possible please bring the correct amount, since I might not be able to give out change.
Optionally, anyone who arrives earlier can of course buy their own ticket if desired.
Afterwards everyone is free to explore the zoo to their liking🌿

At 1:00pm we’ll go to the Restaurant Palmensaal, surely after walking through the zoo everyone will be hungry!
So let’s recharge our energy as well as sign/stamp postcards there.
The restaurant is inside the zoo. So after eating, talking and stamping it’s possible to still roam around the zoo for those who want to~

There’ll be 2 Meetup cards: Zoo Ticket, Zoo Entrance
(Please order your Meetup cards until 3rd of May!)

Each card costs 50ct. I will get them printed by demand.

EDIT: Reservation will only be possible for each person’s own account. No reservation for other people possible anymore.

P.S.: As said, this is my first time hosting a Meetup. So for anyone who is experienced in this and has some advice for me I’ll gladly take it :blush:

Hello, is this really in the middle of the week on Wednesday? I would love to visit Leipzig Zoo, but no chance in the middle of the week.

After checking some events again and reconsidering the date since many might not be able to visit during a weekday I changed the Meetup date!
Its on the Saturday of 13th May now.

Ich wage es und versuche im dritten Anlauf dieses Jahr an einem Meeting teilzunehmen.

Der Leipziger Zoo ist so toll. Der Weihnachtsmann hat uns dieses Jahr sogar eine Jahreskarte gebracht.

Wäre es vielleicht noch eine Überlegung das Essen und Beisammensein in ein Restaurant in den Zoo zu verlegen?
Die Tickets sind ja nicht ganz günstig, vielleicht möchten einige im Anschluss noch eine Runde dort drehen, wenn sich die Füße erholt haben?

Und ich finde es ebenso besser , b.z.w. würde ich es auch begrüßen , wenn wir zum Essen / Karten stempeln in einem Restaurant im Zoo bleiben würden.

Und ich hatte am anfang auch überlegt das Essen in einem Restaurant im Zoo zu planen, war mir aber nicht sicher wie es sich in denen wegens Gruppenreservierungen verhält. Beaonders, da ich noch nie in einem Restaurant dort war :sweat_smile:
Aber ich habe eben nochmal nachgeschaut und auf Anfrage ist in einem davon eventuell Gruppenreservierung möglich. Ich würde dort mal nachfragen, ob es geht.
Und wenn die anderen die auch auf der Teilnehmerliste ebenfalls okay damit sind, dann mache ich gerne dort stattdessen eine Reservierung.

Es ist in Überlegung, dass wir statt zu Leo’s Brasserie vielleicht doch lieber im Zoo Essen und Postkarten stempeln.
Bevor ich im Restaurant dort anfrage, ob ich für eine Gruppe reservieren kann, wollte ich jedoch euch erstmal fragen ob ihr mit der Änderung einverstanden seit? :blush:

Wenn dort genug Ruhe ist, die Karten zu stempeln ohne dass man unter Zeitdruck gerät, ist das für mich okay. Ich vermute fast, dass das das Restaurant dort nicht machen wird, weil die eher auf hohe Besuchsfrequenz aus sind. Aber fragen kostet ja nix. Es macht daher Sinn bei der Anfrage genau abzuklären, ob das Restaurant bereit ist, eine Gruppe 3 bis 4 Stunden da sitzen zu lassen.

Ja das ist ebenfalls ein Befürchtnis meinerseits :sweat_smile:
Ich würde dort bei einem Anruf direkt fragen, ob man mit einer Gruppe für längere Zeit Plätze besetzen kann.
Ich gebe hier für jeden Bescheid, sobald ich weis ob es klappt oder nicht!

@SvenSerpent Ich finde den Vorschlag von @Maddro und @TOM336 großartig und bin absolut dafür, innerhalb des Zoos ein Restaurant auszusuchen! Den Gedanken hatte ich auch schon von Anfang an, dass es doch schöner wäre, wenn wir im Zoo bleiben würden :smiley:
Der Zoo ist so groß und so schön, da kann man den ganzen Tag verbringen, und der Eintritt ist ja auch teuer, da wäre es wirklich schade, wenn wir den nicht auch ausnutzen.
Es gibt doch mehrere Restaurants dort, ich bin auch noch nicht drin gewesen, habe aber beim letzten Mal einen Blick in das Palmenhaus gleich am Beginn des Zoos geworfen, da gibt es doch auch lange Tische (mit Sofa!) für eine Gruppe wie unsere. Ich habe mal ein Bild auf der Zoo-Homepage rausgesucht, schaut mal:

Wer lieber länger im Restaurant bleiben möchte, kann das ja machen, aber es finden sich bestimmt mehrere, die nach einer Stärkung (und Beine ausruhen) und Kartenstempeln gern nochmal eine Runde durch den Zoo drehen möchten.
