Today was my first and probably last time being able to match the stamp to the postcard. They are of the Millennium Bridge in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. I got a random batch of First Class stamps last week and this Millennium Bridge one was there. The stamp is from Royal Mail’s ‘People and Places’ series in June 2000. This card is an official on its way to Germany.
I asked today in the Post Office- are there some another 1,42 euro stamps, not Christmas. OK, there was also an other variety- the Babite region. So, there isn’t any speech about “to match the stamp to the postcard”. Impossible.
Well our postal service often has these postcard sets that come with matching stamps, and they’re often so beautiful that I just have to order them, plus usually if you order above 15 euros you get a set as a free present.
I can only get one kind of international stamps at the post office. The only kind I have is pink flowers. So unless I can find a matching flower card, no. Although when I mail within the U.S.A I have used stamps to match the holiday
Sometimes when I was lucky enough to find the matching card to a stamp (it’s easier this way than searching the right stamp for a card you already have in stock) I stick it on the card to avoid using them all on other ones before I get the chance to send the actual postcard.
It’s most likely it will be an art card though, since I have several art stamps matching a postcard.
You do know that if you are mailing internationally, you don’t necessarily have to use the international forever stamp. You can use any stamps, as long as the value adds up to $1.20. That may make it easier for you to match postcards with the stamps.
Many years ago, I bought monoi stamps at a monoi-related event and they offered me this postcard for each stamp I bought, so I was able to send cards with perfectly matching stamps. It was fun. I like it when our post issues stamps on themes that are shown on local cards - whales, sharks, Taputapuatea, flag…
Both show the night view by the Singapore River, albeit from different angles. The building with three towers in the background is our iconic Marina Bay Sands (a hotel cum shopping centre cum casino). It’s where the famous infinity pool is.
There are many places to get vintage stamps. as long as it adds up to 1.20 then its ok. The USA international ones are dissapointing so I use other stamps instead! Feel free to PM me, I will send you a starter batch if you want.
