:postcard: Mail Suspension Alerts

From the website
https://personal.help.royalmail.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5317/~/international-incident-bulletin
It looks as if it should only be Europe.
Hopefully now that the Chunnel is reopening, it won’t be too long before we can send again. Unfortunately I dropped some stamped cards in the mail today, so have no idea when they might get to the destination
.

Sorry to hear that. At the moment they don’t list Turkey as a suspended destination, but I suspect it will be updated soon as things develop.

Perhaps keep an eye about Turkey on the website and if Turkey remains not suspended for a week or so, maybe try again at the post office.

:white_check_mark: The second update for the day, December 23. Thanks!

Thanks Jess, yes, I spoke to Canada Post today & I gather Canada’s mail to & from the UK & Europe goes through some kind of international sorting station in the UK and so all that mail will be affected by Canada’s ban on flights to & from the UK - at this point the ban is in effect until Jan 6th.

In South Korea, We cannot send mails to Germany by flight. According to Korean postoffice website, Triangle mark on the list in website doesn’t mean available for all. It means only for business customers. So sending postcards individually by air mail isn’t available to Germany, America, Canada, Russia. Please correct the sending country from South Korea. Thank you.

This is the postoffice website link down below.

According to Korean postoffice website,
From South Korea to Germany, It isn’t available for air mail.
But I cannot see Germany is on the list (Ongoing mail suspension) at Postal monitor page of Postcrossing.
Please correct this so that no more users in Korea could be in trouble with sending postcards.
Thank you so much.

If it is possible to send postcards and letters via surface mail or via ship, such country is not taken into account for the postal monitor, as you can still send there, it will just take longer.

Only if no regular mail is sent at all, country is added to the restrictions in the monitor.

Hey I was just in a U.K. post office and the lady at the counter said of yesterday all the EU countries bans had been lifted. I don’t know how accurate that is but if you check the Royal Mail website where the bans were originally sorced from it’ll probably tell you
