CITY/REGION: 77746 Neuried, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany
MEETUP PLACE: Main Entrance of Forum Européen du Rhin (Am Altenheimer Yachthafen 1, 77746 Neuried, Germany)
DATE: Saturday, 15.04.2023
TIME: starting at 10:00am (restaurant booked from 1:00pm on)
MEETUP PLAN: First, we will go for a little hike on the Auenwildnis Trail. Afterwards we will go to Armbrusters Lieblingsplatz together for some food, good conversation and signing cards.
Hiking: the Auenwildnis Trail starts just across the street from our restaurant. It leads along tiny paths through the pristine nature of the arms of the Old Rhine. Enchanted nature, small wooden bridges and with a little luck you can see various local animals. Depending on the groundwater level the trail is closed - let’s hope for the best! In case it is closed, we can still meet for writing and food and chatting. For more details regarding the trail check out the flyer here: https://www.neuried.net/files/daten/d06-freizeit/d602-freizeitangebote/Faltkarte-Auenwildnispfad-Deutsch.pdf
Food: the location will be “Armbrusters Lieblingsplatz” in the Forum Européen du Rhin. They serve typical bakery food, also some warm dishes for lunch. They have self-service and a little store with local produce and gifts, too. For more details regarding the location check their website here: Armbrusters Lieblingsplatz - Europäisches Forum am Rhein
Meeting cards: everyone is invited to design meeting cards. However, please post your cards here in the thread in order to give everyone the opportunity to order them from you.
Maximum number of postcards: there is no limit to the postcards you can bring to the meeting and which you want to be signed and stamped. I will provide “Laufzettel”, of course.
Maximum number of participants: to keep it cozy, I will limit the meeting to 20 adults. Kids are welcome, of course, but not counted as participants. Still, please let me know how many kids you bring to the event in order to book seats on the table from them, too. In case you need a high chair for your little one, please drop me a direct message. I will book them, too (they have 10 available)
Other remarks: there is no possibility to purchase postcards along the way, but parking is the same for the hike and for the restaurant later. That means you should bring your own cards, but you can leave them in the car while hiking. And please keep in mind that we are hiking directly at the French-German border. So service for the cellphone is most of the time really bad or not existing at all. Furthermore the hiking trail is not wheelchair or stroller accessible as you can probably see on the flyer. Friendly dogs are allowed in the restaurant.
Meet-up life hack for newbies: make sure to bring a stamp or stickers with your Postcrossing nickname. Otherwise you will sign plenty of cards by hand
