August 30, 2023 marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Taganrog and the Rostov region from the Nazi invaders.
After a long 683 days of occupation, Taganrog and the entire Rostov region were liberated. Warriors of the 130th Rifle Division under the command of Colonel Konstantin Vasilyevich Sychev, the 416th Rifle Division of Azerbaijan under the command of Colonel Dmitry Mikhailovich Syzranov and the pilots of the 6th Guards Aviation Division under the command of General Grigory Alekseevich Chuchev entered Taganrog from the side of the Sambek Heights.
