MEETUP PLAN:
I would like to invite you to my first self-organized postcrossing meeting. I have thought of a small program for this purpose, which I hope will be well received.
In the morning I would like to visit with you one of the largest two-wheeler exhibitions in Germany in the German Two-Wheeler- and NSU-Museum (https://demomu.de/). The tour lasts about 1 1/5 hours and, according to museum staff and guests, is not just for horsepower enthusiasts, as it is primarily about the history of mobility. The museum is located in the Teutonic Order Castle in Neckarsulm and is completely barrier-free (the entrance and all departments can be reached via ramps, lifting platforms and elevators).
The costs will be entrance per person 6 euros (when the group has min. 10 persons. Otherwise the regular prices must be payed at most 7,50 Euro) + 75 euros guide fees (passed on to all museum participants). In order to avoid chaos at the checkin, I ask you to bring the appropriate amount of money with you. I will then collect it in front of the museum and pay for everything together.
=> A little “funfact” about the Meeting-Date one of the founder of the NSU-Enginecompany (Christian Gottlob Schmidt) dies 140 years ago on 24. Feb 1884.<=
Nobody has to go to the museum with us, but it would of course be nice if as many as possible went with us. And there is a small museum shop where you can also buy postcards.
After visiting the museum, we want to go to the Neckarsulmer Brauhaus to have something to eat and then sign/stamp our postcards and MeetUp books. Of course, you can also communicate diligently.
I need the final number of participants by February 19, 2024 at the latest in order to pass this on to the museum and restaurant.
10:30-10:45 o’clock Meeting in the entrance area (best outside when it’s dry weather)
11:00 - ca. 12:30 Uhr Guided Tour
12:45/13:00 Uhr Neckarsulmer Brauhaus
Neckarsulm is easy to reach by train. It is about 350 meters from the train station to the museum. It is then about 400 meters from the museum to the brewery.
There are parking spaces directly at the museum and there are plenty of other parking options, but you may have to walk a bit. Here is a small overview of parking spaces and current cost information: Parken in Neckarsulm | Neckarsulm
=> Edit 30.09.23: As difficult as it is for me… Because of this wonderful response on this MeetUp (thank you!) I have to I have to restrict the participants to 30. (the Number excludes the Non-Postcrossing accompanied)
The lovely @Clara508 has already created great MeetUp cards (more information about this in the next posts). Everybode can create other cards, but you must offer them here for every participant.
