Who is Anon?

First off, sorry if this is in the wrong place, I don’t know where to put this

I’m very confused on who Anon is. There are MANY accounts (and I thought that was against postcrossing rules?) and each one hasn’t been active for a long time, nor do they have an actual postcrossing account linked to their forum account? Could someone explain?

If a user chooses to close their Postcrossing account, their forum account is not deleted, but their username changes to @ anon…

A @ anon… account on the forum is basically a ghost account or an archive of the posts the user made before they closed their account.

Not to be confused with Shakespeare’s “Anon”: I’m coming or I’m coming soon.
Then, used as see you soon.
And so, Anon, for now!

Can an @Anon account still be active on the Forum, I wonder.

I don’t think, because you need to be logged in to write.

(In another forum there was an “anonym” user name, you could ask to use, and write maybe a little sensitive topic with that. Really good, because there were no pre thoughts about the writer, and it was easier to focus on the topic.)
