CITY/REGION: Oslo, Norway
MEETUP PLACE: Outside Nationaltheateret metro station
DATE: Sunday, 12 November 2023
TIME: 11.00 am
MEETUP PLAN: Being a tourist in Oslo, visiting museums, postcard shopping
Tourist in your own town is finally back after being cancelled for some years due to covid.
Tourist in own city is a collaboration between VisitOSLO, Ruter and many of the cityâs museums and attractions that invite Osloâs residents to experience the city as a tourist. The event lasts for one day and is free.
After a few years of the pandemic, we can finally, on Sunday 12 November 2023, invite everyone in Oslo to experience their city for free!
More information on how to order tickets and the complete program for the day will follow.
Follow our Facebook page for more information.
The ticket is a 24 hour Oslo pass, which gives free access to museums, transport and discounts.
Anyone who is interested in participating need to follow up on information in the above links when the âtickets/Oslo passâ is given out. There will only âelectronicâ Oslo passes, so you would need to download the Oslo pass app. If I remember correctly from the last time I attended, you will get a code, and in the app you choose redeem and then enter received pass code.
I was thinking about visiting the following museeums which have free access this day):
Historisk museum (with the exhibition Arv with Kongshornet, ARV â vĂ„r plass i historien - Historisk museum)
Munch-museet
Oslo city hall with tours at 12.00 and 14.00 (45 minutes)
Ibsen Museum & Teater
Norsk Hjemmefrontsmuseum
Oslo Reptilpark
Nasjonalgalleriet does not give free access, but it is possible to visit the museum shop without any ticket (to buy postcards)
The Nobel Peace Center is closed due to renovations until 1 December, and I am not sure if there will be access to the museum shop.
Any other suggestions?
And I think that we will just sit down for lunch and writing/signing postcard at when we feel for it and find a cafe.
I am not planning on a meetup card for this meetup (unless any of you got an idea for a meetup card).
Please make sure to read the Meetup Guidelines before signing up for a meetup.
