I gather old magazines and books from the library that would otherwise be thrown out. Some ads come on postcard type paper so I save those and cover with recycled type or picture paper.
I also use travel brochures but that is not something available these days. My mother in the 1940s used to do this. It is a fun way to use things and can be done for next to nothing.

I make my own envelopes too. Such fun and a joy, I am told, to receive.
