I would have expected more uniformity in rates amongst the countries using the euro.

Why? Itā€™s just a monetary union. Of independent countries with their own postal services.

But many countries have cheaper postal rates either within Europe or within the EU. But not all countries in the EU, much less all European countries, use the Euro. Europe is more complicated and diverse than you think. There are a lot of different currencies, languages, unions, treaties and so on. If uniformity were simple, we would have more of it already.

But to be honest, I personally wouldnā€™t want something like the ā€œUnited States of Europeā€ .
Connecting countries while preserving their diversity is the key!

@anon12838227 @djctv2020 Are the prices for India on this wiki still up-to-date? I got an email from a new member who was told at the post office that Rs 25 was the price of international postageā€¦ Theyā€™re a bit confused, so any help you might be able to offer would be appreciated!

There has been no change to postal prices. I think this new member was quoted a rounded off envelope rate. Envelope rates start at 22 rupees. Sometimes it happens that postal clerks are not aware that there is a separate postcard rate and will tell folks to use 25 rupees postage on a postcard.

Edit: Hereā€™s the government notification for when the last time postage prices were changed.

Details are on page 7 onwards. I follow the Airmail Postcard rate on Page 9 (table under Schedule A).

The problem is, if he is a new member and went to the Indian post office, asked about this in stamp sales counter, they will confused him. Today also itā€™s happened to me. They asked me to affix ā‚¹15 for post card. Then I show the India Post website, after that they accepted. So, better avoid to ask them. Just affix ā‚¹12 for postcard and ā‚¹25 for 20 grams envelope. Most of the time, they confused with the Aerogramme with postcard!

@softserif Thank you for updating the data for Philippines! Are all the domestic rates really more expensive than the international one?

No problem. Yes, international postcards have a flatrate of Php 15 (based on a 2016 PHLPOST circular)

This is presently the rate at which I send international postcards.

Meanwhile, domestic postcards follow the rates for domestic ordinary mail: PHLPOST Postage Rates 2021

i donā€™t think every country is added to the list

Thanks for putting this together! I was so curious.

Anyone knows whether these Russian prices also applied to envelope?

A postcard from the US to any US territory is considered domestic. Example from San Diego CA to Tamuning GU is 36 cents or a Postcard rate. San Juan PR to Charlotte Amalie VI is 36 cents.

A postcard from the US or from any US territory to any of these international destinations that form part of the COFA Compact of Free Association: Palau, Marshall Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia are domestic price as well. Each of these three countries have a two letter abbreviation and a 5 digit zip code like the US states and territories.

Here is the link to the postal calculator is here: https://postcalc.usps.com/

If you change destination country from United States to Palau, Marshall Islands, or Federated States of Micronesia.
You can use my city zip code 92103 as an example and plug it in the sent from. I picked some random zip codes from these countries. (Pohnpei FM in Micronesia is 96941. Koror PW in Palau is 96940. Majuro MH in the Marshall Islands is 96960.) Put any of those zipcodes in the mailing to section. Then click Calculate postcard and put 1 in the quantity and it will tell you 36 cents.

Warning to USA postcarders - if you need stamps, buy now - Rates increase August 29, 2021.

Question about UK Europe stamps. I want to buy a set of stamps on ebay and one of them will be a Europe stamp. On the Royal Mail website they dont list a postage rate for Europe? Are these stamps still valid to use? Whatā€™s their value? Should I contact Royal Mail? Do I just have too much time on my hands?
