Postcrossing meetup custom stamps size?

What size is appropriate for those custom meetup stamps? I want to make some for me and my partner but don’t want to make it too big and take up too much room on the card. What is the recommended size for something like that?

I have self-inking 3/8x1in, but didn’t use the whole area for my design. I’d definitely aim for a stamp 1in and smaller

I got the 0.7” self inking stamp from Riley Design. The size is perfect for me.
