More received than sent cards?

I’m fairly new to Postcrossing. Right now I have 18 cards sent and 19 received. How is that possible? I thought one of my cards had to be registered before someone else got my address? Not to mention someone wrote to me saying they forgot to put the ID on their card, and I haven’t received that one yet, which means potentially 20 received.

I also have 6 cards travelling, although one has expired, plus two open slots.

Please help me understand this lol
