Hi, Roxanna! So nice to hear from you.
So now I am really curious about this different, savory papanasi. Is there cheese in the actual dough like the sweet dumpling kind? Can you find a link with a recipe or a video? I don’t mind if it’s in Romanian, I am just curious. Usually when people tell me about a food they like, I know it’s going to really good!

As for Mihnea’s meetup this summer, I think It’s around 14 July. Unfortunately I can’t be there because I have friends from the US visiting me in Athens around that time. Too bad, because I love Romania!

They’re pretty close to those grandma used to make - although I’d say she used much less flour, and only on the outside, like you would for schnitzels. They were more flat, less fluffy.

My hometown is Târgu-Ocna, in Bacău county, so our dishes have a bit more Slavic influence, less Balkan than what you’d try down South :slight_smile:
