I was just coming to share this too!

I got a temp job doing this for Royal Mail in England once, but I got a better job offer so didn’t do it. In the tests they gave me, they were only looking at postcode, no other information, since British postcodes actually give almost the whole address.

And here’s an article from the July issue of The Postal Record about the U.S.P.S. Remote Encoding Center. At the bottom of page 2 they mention that the handwriting of Americans born after 1981 is almost exclusively printed, with no cursive at all.
