I just did a bit of math on distance and time travelling on my postcards to and from Australia and they have an average speed of around 30 kilometres per hour, which is faster than a snail.
Australia Post is, however, talking about slowing the pace of mail with less deliveries per week.
Yes, i think they have already started ‘slowing the pace’ at my place. We have mysteriously only been getting mail delivered 2 or 3 days a week. We haven’t received any notice about it, so not sure if this is permanent or not. As long as Australia Post actually ARE faster than a snail, i guess that’s something. hahaha 
Am always amazed when mail delivered by Australia Post arrives quickly. When it happens its like magic.
