SIPA is organizing a much anticipated National Level Stamp Exhibition. They have kindly agreed to host a postcrossing meetup during this exhibition. More details will follow. Please mark your dates for this exciting meetup!

This 13th Chennai meetup is my first-ever meet-up. It was a wonderful experience. Thanks @PrakashrajG for the invite, and all who arranged the meet-up. It felt good meeting so many postcrossers at one place. Thanks for SIPA (South India Philatelist’s Association) for supporting Postcrossers and for the meet-up.

These used to be the places for buying postcards - but apparently lighthouse has run out of the postcards.

Places to buy postcards in Chennai:

  1. Lighthouse: Set of 4 cards available for 20 Rupees. Note that the shop is accessible only during lighthouse visiting times (https://goo.gl/maps/YgdmZGd7jbm)

  2. ASI - Archaeological Survey of India (https://goo.gl/maps/AqzX17ivAzG2). Mix of postcards from 70’s and recent ones.

  3. Higginbothams (https://goo.gl/maps/76WhQKf1GTL2): A bookstore on Mount Road. Has many cards from V.B. Anand.

Snake park in Guindy also has postcards - but they are a bit flimsy.

Dakshina Chitra (https://www.dakshinachitra.net/) has some postcards too. From other sources EGMORE ICSA and Mylapore Indra Brass Pooja store are also selling tourist postcards
