1. Icons of the Qiang People -By @yukie07


The Qiang Ethnic Group live mainly in the counties of Aba Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan. They have a profound history of over 3000 years.
The Qiang people are famous for handicrafts. Their shoes called“Yun yun shoes”, sewn and embroidered by local women, look like delicate boats and are very comfortable. Their shawls called “Yun jian”.
The Qiang people like to drink Za wine, “corn-steamed wine” and Mead. Za wine is a special drinking way. The local people also like to eat a special kind of hot pot - the pot with cured meat.
The Diaolou is a kind of watchtower that as high as 10 -30 meters (33 - 98 feet) with the materials of stone and clay, functioning to store food and firewood and to defend enemy’s aggression.
They are versatile and have many musical instruments, among which the most famous is the Qiang flute. The Qiang flute, made of bone or bamboo, sounds soft, lingering, and bright.The Qiangs are also famous for the sheepskin drum. The main tool used in religious ceremonies.
Zhuanshan Festival is one of the most ceremonious traditional festivals of them. It is a sacrificial activity to Baishi God, which represents the gods of heaven, mountain and so on. People always dressed up for this festival and gathering together.

2. Headdress of the Qiang People -By @yukie07


Most men’s and women’s bandages headdress in the Qiangs’ counties. The style is different in different areas.
In the ChiBuSu area, "Tile Headdress " is popular among women. The tile like green cloth embroidered with patterns and decorated with silver plates and clasps.The women in the HeiHu Village wrapped their heads in white cloth, known as "General Headdress”. Legend is in memory of the national hero General black tiger. PuXi Village women’s dress with black headdress, known as "Black Embroidered Headdress ".

3. Mt. Balang - By Steve Jin


The Mt. Balang is part of the UNESCO Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaries - Wolong, Mt. Siguniang and Jiajin Mountains. ASL 5040m, also know as the Top of the Panda Kingdom.
