Mikhail Alexandrovich Sholokhov (1905-1984) was a Soviet writer, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature, author of such a famous work as “The Quiet Don”. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature, his works were published not only in the USSR, but also abroad. Mikhail Sholokhov is a native of the Rostov region and throughout his life was a patriot of the Don region. Lilac is a symbol of the “Sholokhov Spring” festival, dedicated to Sholokhov’s birthday.
