The giant building of the House of Soviets in the center of Kaliningrad was built during the 1970s and 1990s according to the project of the Soviet architect Schwarzbreim. The brutalist building’s protruding covered balconies resembling two eyes and a mouth led to it being nicknamed “The Buried Robot”.
House of Soviets will soon be demolished according to the city government plans. We wanted to save memory of House of Soviets in the postcards as a part of Kaliningrad history.
