Like many names in the Wizardry World, this character’s name has its own history. J.K. Rowling found inspiration in Greek mythology. “Sibyls” were called ancient soothsayers who predicted disasters. And as we remember, every year the professor begins to get acquainted with a class predicting a quick death to one of the students. The famous Sibyll’s grand-grand-grandmother, Cassandra, is also named after the ancient prophetess Cassandra, a Trojan princess with the gift of divination.
