Over 26 years of literary work Anton Pavlovich Chekhov has written more than 900 short stories, essays, novels and plays.
He worked on works in different places of the Russian Empire — in his native Taganrog, in Moscow and the estate of Melikhovo near Moscow, in Siberia and Sakhalin, in the Crimea, where he spent the last years of his life.
The world fame of his works, the love of readers, fill us with pride, we are grateful to fate that the fertile corner of the globe, which is called the Don Region, has firmly connected us with this wonderful Russian playwright.
