The Corella, or Nymph, or Nymph parrot (Nymphicus hollandicus) is a bird of the cockatoo family, the only species of the genus Nymphicus. They inhabit arid regions of Australia: grassy steppes with free-standing trees and bushes, sometimes visit semi-deserts, and also live on plains near the shores of rivers and lakes. Throughout the year, with the exception of the breeding season, they keep in small groups (from 10 to 50 birds) and only in particularly dry years they accumulate near reservoirs in large quantities.
The main food is the seeds of herbaceous and many woody plants. They also sit on flowering eucalyptus trees, where they feed on nectar, small insects. During the ripening of the loaves, they feed on wheat grains.
