Tags for inbox

I don’t know if this could be useful to anyone else, but I was wondering if it could be possible to add tags to the messages we send and receive.

My inbox is starting to get crowded and the only option there seems to be is archiving. I don’t want to archive messages though, I just want to organize them.

If we could create our own tags to add to message threads like we do here in the forum it would be awesome. Just like the labels in Gmail, we could click on a specific tag and see every message tagged with, for example, the type: Round Robin, Tag, Bingo… Or with the specific group we are in if it’s a RR, you get what I mean.

It could be a way to filter our inbox, wouldn’t it be neat?

I honestly don’t know how doable this could be, but I was reading some past posts and saw that people had asked about folders. Since that seems like a hard to implement solution, maybe tags could be easier because they are more similar to the way the forum works.

I don’t know, just throwing ideas out there.
