#13@ladybug513 sends a vintage-style Halloween postcard. Most of the children here no longer walk around but have their parents drive them. They pull in front of a driveway, run to the door, get back in the card, drive to the next driveway. Mind you, we are in a typical suburban neighborhood. Whatever happened to running down the sidewalk from door-to-door?
#19@ellistrations thank you for the Studio Ghibli card! The newest one honestly took me two watches to fully absorb- it’s very dense. But then I really liked it!
#15@AccentOnHakes I think our neighbor has one of these dogs! Someone moving into our neighborhood made a joke to me that they need to get a dog now because it seems like everyone here has at least one!
#25@Lagotta HALLOWEEN!! Our neighborhood is in a uproar right now because the HOA decided to reseal our streets right before Halloween (it’s on hold right now…)
#30@RockyRoadTrip HALLOWEEN!! My parents and their friends always had parties - but I don’t remember a Halloween one. Summer time was always at the fire pits on the beach - which always got broken up by the cops (so did some of the other ones!).
#15 @msnay72#9 Love this pretty card! I was in San Antonio earlier this month and I am glad it’s not so hot here…but it turned cold too fast! No winning, it seems. @LaurenceB#18 Cordoba, Spain. What a beautiful shot! @Triol#20 Thanks for the beautiful autumn colors over the Catskills. You must be enjoying the weather right now. @beatriceh#27 I love this stack of animals! So cute!! Maybe a small or baby pig could fit on top of a cow, but then how would the sheep work…?
#27@beatriceh sent a great “deviantart” card with creepy animal skeletons. I love this card, too! I live in a condo, and most of my neighbors are retired. We don’t get any trick-or-treaters. But I’m not a holiday person - I pay attention to Christmas, but hate shopping. I ignore most other holidays.
Thank you Susan #13@ladybug513 for your Harrisburg card! Good choice for my small town album!
Thank you Kai #15@AccentOnHakes for your National Park card from Kings Canyon. We’ve visited there once with the our children 15 years ago or so!
Thank you Heather #17@hmulligan17 for your National Park from Ohio! My fall plans are bird hunting, curling and one or two visits to our married daughter’s house. It’s about a 4 hour drive away. We did our last camping trip of the season in October for 5 days! Total this year was 49 days camping and one overnight hiking trip with my daughter in the mountains!
In December my wife, two daughters and son-in-law are flying to Germany to see my son play basketball and see the Christmas market!
I’ll go for a visit in the late Spring when I can combine it with some other country and spend 3-4 weeks there instead of 9 days! Work commitments for the young ones!
Thank you Rene #8@Shesa-Renegade for your WPD card! My third one so far!
Thank you Olga #20@Triol for your historic card from Williamsburg! I find it interesting so I will check out online information about the Governor’s palace! Good choice!
Another card arrived in yesterday’s mail. Many thanks to #27@beatriceh for the wonderful cat/bat card for Halloween with a vintage The Legend of Sleepy Hollow stamp for added effect! For Halloween, we’re driving down to Farmington Hills to have dinner at a Chinese restaurant that we love. I worry every day for you and my other friends in Chicago.
#27@beatriceh - Thank you so much for the fantastic Halloween card and eerie washi! To answer your questions, the twins are going with friends all dressing as Toy Story characters. The four younger ones are a cowgirl, a green bird (Natalie’s favorite color), Harry Potter and Hermione Granger. We stay home to give out candy to the neighborhood kids. Bobbing for apples was discontinued the one and only time when Tony leaned over and his phone fell out of his shirt pocket and into the water!
#29@melvnoble - Thank you for this very spooky black cat and matching cat washi! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays too. We are currently enjoying autumn weather and Halloween night is looking windy, but dry. Looking forward to it!
#27@beatriceh Thank you Charisse for this pinup Halloween card! I did have a fun WPD, I was in the chatroom without a camera, but was chatting on the sidebar, hehe. I love seeing all of the inflatables in the yards for Halloween. I didn’t put mine out this year.
#6@mikeyz1 thanks for this Halloween card. All the stamps fell off but it was still delivered! I’ve been listening to Dracula on audiobook on my drive.
18 reporting - First batch of cards since the strike
2 @CrimsonKing Thank you so much for the super cute Halloween card and all the extras! The kids always decide what they want to dress up as on the same day… We have a big batch of costumes at home, they play dress up all the time!
4 @jenhart Thank you so much for the beautiful Wisconsin poster! And I love the stamps
5 @carolreader Thank you very much for the NY stock exchange card! I just find it so crazy that it used to be people trading on a floor rather than computers
7 @austen777 Thank you very much for the Ben & Jerry card! Most of the ice cream sold here are local brands. We do have a few B&J or Haagen Dazs but I don’t think they’re the most popular!
12 @cpaige Thank you very much for the Long Beach camper! I’m always impressed by all the beautiful trips & hikes you go on!
14 @maillem Thank you for the cute fox illustration! It is getting pretty cold here as well. I took out the faux-fur lined leggings!
15 @AccentOnHakes Thank you very much for the war poster. Coming back home is always one of my favorite parts of a trip.
20 @Triol Thank you so much for the beautiful flamingo. I kind of love Fall too. The cold weather makes me feel less guilty for staying in
23 @hmulligan17 Thank you for the 59Parks card! I’m currently listening to the audio version of Wild Dark Shore. It’s alright!
25 @Lagotta Thank you so much for the bright lemon! Your message was so uplifting And I did just eat some ice cream
29 @melvnoble Thank you for the cute Halloween card! With the kids Halloween day has become a little stressful… having to dress them up for school/daycare and then rushing at night too
Thank you #17 Moon @mooonie for your Ford classic card! It was our 2nd visit to Michigan’s upper peninsula! I regret back in 08 not stopping at the Ford museum in Detroit!
Thank you #19 Barbara @ellistrations for your MacDonald’s post card!
Thank you #21 James @uconn for your Muir Woods card! We’ve driven to SF 3 or 4 times as we have a friend who lives near the park. We’ve taken in other SF highlights instead! Hopefully on our next visit to SF we’ll visit!
Thank you #29 Mel @melvnoble for your Halloween card!
#29 - Almost all of my postcards arrived! Looks like I’m just waiting on one more after this.
#9@msnay72 - Thank you, Renee, for this postcard of a Civil War Monument in Keene, New Hampshire! I enjoy visiting historical monuments when I go to new towns!
#18@LaurenceB - Thank you, Laurence, for this postcard for World Postcard Day! I love it! I’m also glad the strike is over and mail can run again!
#20@Triol - Thank you, Olga, for the sweet owls in a tree and the moon in the background! I also love autumn, and the trees have been gorgeous!
#24@roxy - Thank you, Brenda, for this postcard for World Postcard Day! Like I mentioned to Laurence, I’m so happy the strike is over, and you can send your cards!
#27@beatriceh - Thank you, Charisse, for this Halloween postcard! We’re going to watch some spooky movies and Halloween episodes of our favorite TV shows tonight! We don’t get trick-or-treaters on our street.
