Olá a todos!
I hope I’m not intruding by asking some questions here, but I would really like some help from some native Portuguese speakers, and/or someone who regularly sends mail from Portugal.
I have a whole list of questions, but please don’t hesitate to answer if you only know the answer to some of them. Also, I’m not looking for absolute answers, I just want to know what your personal experiences with these rules are.
Format questions:
- Is it really not allowed to use colorful envelopes or envelopes with pictures?
I google translated this site, and as far as I can tell, it says that the paper of envelopes must be white or “dull” in color. (which is a shame since I like to fold my own envelopes using all sorts of paper) - From the same site, it says that length of card must be >= width*sqrt(2). So square cards are not allowed?
- The site also has this picture of the “zones” on the envelope/card
It seems extremely strict to me. Do you stick to these rules? - All of the above requirements are for “Normal” formats, and over on the postage calculator, I can see that “non-normal” formats cost more. So do you think it will be ok to send e.g. a square, colorful envelope if I just pay the higher fee?
Stamp questions:
- Can the N20g or E20g or I20g be used together with other stamps to signify some specific value? and in that case, what are the values? I.e. If I really like a N20g stamp, can I use it to send a card internationally by just adding some extra stamps?
- Can I mail cards from Portugal using Madeira or Açores stamps?
- Is there anywhere I can buy several stamps with 0.10, 0.20 or 0.30 value? Many of the stamps I have are a few years old, and it is hard to make the postage fit with the modern costs. I have only found very few small-value stamps on CTT’s own online shop, and they are always part of series with many stamps of different values.
I really hope you can help. Agradeço antecipadamente
