World Animal Day 4 October is usualy in the shadow of World Postcard Day 1 October.

I would like a to see a writing prompt about animals.

  • do you have or had or want a pet animal
  • do you have a favourite animal
  • do you visit a zoo
  • does your country has a Party for the Animals
  • do you have a totum of animal in your house to remind you of the character of the animal for your wellbeing

I am not sure if I have overseen this topic here but I would like a promt like:

What major holiday do you celebrate in your country and how is it celebrated?

About the best book you read in 2021. Or movie seen. Cd listened.

Or about those as your all time favourite.

From my profile:

In which way has Postcrossing changed your life?
Can you recommend any bands / writers from your country or region?
What’s your favourite mantra and why?
What’s the most beautiful song you’ve ever listened to?
Have you ever witnessed something paranormal?

  • What does your dream house look like, what’s in it?
  • If money and social pressure were not an issue, what outfit would you be wearing?
  • What colour-related expressions are there in your language? For example “To be blue” means to be sad in English, and drunk in German. Or “being green with envy”, which doesn’t exist in any language but English.
  • What joke only “works” in your country?
  • What experience have you had that you think is completely unique?

That expression exists in Norwegian as well: “Å være grønn av misunnelse”.

·Your way to the post office: maybe it is located very close to your house, or you need to make a short trip to get there, or maybe it is very difficult to get there because there is always a huge dog sitting nearby and does not let anyone in.
·the stupidity that you believed in as a child.
·the most common thing that you don’t know how to do for some reason, and the most unusual thing that you know how to do

“being green with envy”

Exists in Spanish too: “estar verde de envidia”

I retract my previous statement about being green with envy, I remember learning that it was uniquely English and didn’t research the matter further

But as this thread shows, there are clearly many metaphorical uses for colours in different languages, and I would love to see it used as a prompt.

Everybody like to dance, whether you’re good at it or not. So, a fun writing prompt would be to ask people to write about their favorite dance move or style of dance. How does it make them feel when they dance? It can be a current dance (so hard to keep up with all the new stuff) or a dance that’s been around for awhile.

Languages. I did not check all the writingprompts and suggestions. Was is already a topic in the past?

Are you studying another language currently?
If you would like to study a language which would it be?

Postcrossing is often used by writing in other languages.

I would like to learn French. Studied it years ago. I like Frensch chansons to listen. And would like to read Albert Cossery, Jean Giono … in original language.
