Vielleicht müssten Sie sich einmal die Briefmarken ansehen, die z.B. durch die Maschinen des Briefzentrums 77 völlig verunstaltet und oft angerissen werden. Eine wahre Schande - und für jeden Sammler ein Grund zur Verzweiflung.

I have mentioned before that I was told by a USPS clerk that hand-cancelling was “illegal” (which it isn’t … what a harsh word). But as I was sending some pen-pal mail to France the other day, the clerk (not the same one), just went ahead and hand cancelled the 7 stamps on it without me asking. Made me oh-so-happy!
