Hey! Can i know whats the procedure of sending postcards. When i went to post office, they asked me to put the postcard in an envelope and stick the stamp worth of Rs. 40. Is it a new change in postage??

@nihal1289 You can send the postcard as is, no need to put it in an envelope. ā¹15 postage is enough to send to any international destination via airmail.

Can anybody please confirm where we can get best postal stamps in Delhi , INDIA.
The best place would be visit a Philatelic Bureau. As far as I know there are a couple of Philatelic Bureaus in Delhi located in Delhi GPO, Delhi HPO, Sansad Marg HPO, and Krishna Nagar HPO.

You can always get Commemorative stamps at Philatelic Bureau Sansad Marg HPO. It has the largest allocation of Commemorative stamps all over India.

I am very new to postcrossing, and I have sent a card from Bangalore to the USA. But I did not write āBy Air Mailā. What is the chance of getting the card delivered? How much time would it take?

You can also purchase stamps online. Typically, the stamps that you would find at the Philatelic Bureau are available on the e-PostOffice website -

Even I am new to Postcrossing. I did not know about Air Mail vs Sea Mail. Hence, I had not written it on the Postcards but they have reached their destination including USA.

One of my postcards to China has expired.
Later on I read a suggestion on one of the profiles from Chinese nationality to print the address in Chinese instead of writing the address in English. So next time I am planning to do the same.

My suggestion would be to order the stamps from the below site. This is the official website of the Indian Post. Not all post offices have pretty stamps. Many of them arenāt even aware about Philately. In some states only the Post Office GPO (General Post Office) which is like the Head Post office has the Philately counters.

For the postcards you could get them at local shops or from Amazon India! Again because the postcards by Indian Post are available generally at Post Office GPO. I will suggest Amazon India. Search for āIndian Postcardsā.

Do we have to specify āAir Mailā in all postcards we sent out? Iām new to postcrossing and I stick 15rs stamp for outside India and only write the address, postcard ID and content on card. Am I doing anything wrong?

I usually write āBY AIR MAILā on my all outgoings, so they reach thier destination fast, cause i have experienced mail reaching late despite of using air mail postage but not mentioned āBY AIR MAILā.

Yes, luckily I was notified of this from that personās profile, and I believe I read that in this site too. So when i posted it, on 3April2023, i stuck a printed label of address in the address bar. If someone could mention this thread after a month, I might be able to update on this
